The "Compassion and Design" series aims to support organizations, which have as their mandate to care for the well-being of animals while defending and promoting the rights of these sentient beings. For the F/W 2018-19 and S/S 2019 seasons, Valérie Dumaine will donate a percentage of the sales from that series to Penny Lane Farm Sanctuary.
Penny Lane Farm Sanctuary is a registered not-for-profit corporation located in Saint Pascal Baylon, Ontario. It provides a safe haven to horses and farmed animals at risk of being sent to slaughter as well as those that have suffered abuse, neglect, or loss of trust. All of its residents are simply "free to just be." Through community involvement and education programs, it also aims to promote compassion and kindness towards all animals. For more information: Penny Lane Farm Sanctuary.
Last year (F/W 2017-18 and S/S 2018), Valérie Dumaine supported Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS). Established in 1977, SSCS is an international non-profit organization. Its mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species. It has chapters in Vancouver, Toronto, and Halifax. For more information: Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
In 2016 and 2017, Valérie Dumaine supported Le Nichoir, an organization that provides professional and compassionate care to Canada's injured and orphaned wild birds while also developing public environmental education programs in its efforts to conserve these animals as part of our natural heritage.
